Sauces

Sauces are another key to eating flavorful food. I like to make my own sauces when possible and use organic ingredients.

Harissa (Middle Eastern)



Ajvar (Macedonia) 


Mustard BBQ Sauce

4 tbl butter

1/2 cup mustard

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup onion (1 sm onion )

2 tbl paprika

2 tbl garlic

Salt, pepper, Cayenne pepper

Sautée onions, add all ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes 


Spiced Yogurt Sauce

1/3 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 lemon

1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon za'atar

1 garlic clove

Salt


Liquids I always keep in my fridge:

apple cider vinegar

mustard
mayo (you can make your own as well)
Bragg's liquid aminos (I use this instead of soy sauce)
